What I Wish Every Couple Knew About Their Wedding Day

If I could sit down with every couple before their big day — cup of tea (or something stronger) in hand — there’s one thing I’d want them to know:

It’s okay if not everything goes to plan. Your day will still be perfect — not because it runs exactly to schedule or because everything looks like your Pinterest board, but because it’s yours.

The weather might turn. Someone might forget their tie or cry their lashes off. A speech might go off-script, or the cake might lean a little. And I promise you — none of it will matter.

Bride and groom dancing joyfully at their wedding reception, both with hands in the air and beaming smiles during the party.
Bride and groom laughing and dancing together surrounded by guests on a lively wedding reception dancefloor.

“Dan is the unsung hero of every event. Making everyone feel more than comfortable and being a massive part of everyone’s day.”

What you will remember is the way your stomach flipped when you saw each other for the first time. The way your mates made you laugh until your face hurt. The tiny, unplanned things — a look, a laugh, a hug — that weren’t in the timeline, but will stay with you forever.

Weddings are about connection, not perfection. The people, the emotion, the energy in the room — that’s the stuff that makes it magical.

So if things wobble on the day — breathe. Take it in. Laugh about it. Let go of the pressure to make everything “just right” and trust that it already is.

This is your day. It’s not meant to be perfect — it’s meant to be yours. And honestly? That’s so much better.

Whether it’s a big party or an intimate "screw tradition" kind of day, I’m all about capturing the real stuff — no awkward posing, no cheesy moments, just your story told right.
